Starting in 2008, the Vital Voices Global Mentoring Walk has taken place every year in over 80 countries in celebration of International Women’s Day. Thousands of women across the globe gather in their own communities to participate in the Walk. Mentors provide insights, guidance and share their own stories over the course of a walk. Many of the relationships established transcend the Walk and lasting, authentic mentor-mentee partnerships are born.
Each year the Mentoring Walks take place in celebration of International Women’s Day (March 8th), re-igniting a global movement and sparking a dynamic conversation about the importance of investing in women. This year, the Vital Voices global network of women leaders in more than 85 countries around the world will host Mentoring Walks on Saturday, 7th March 2020 (9.30am - 4pm) – sending the powerful message that women leaders around the world are giving back and investing in the next generation.
The day will involve an opening gathering for participants and guests, a 2-hour walk where paired Mentors and Mentees will walk and talk together, followed by a closing lunch and networking. Mentors provide insights, guidance and share their own stories over the course of a walk. Many of the relationships established transcend the Walk and lasting, authentic mentor-mentee partnerships are born.
